EU policy - Intern

The Standing Committee of European Doctors (CPME) is offering an 6 month policy internship at its Brussels Office, from October 2012 – March 2013
The main purpose of this position is to assist CPME in fulfilling its organisational objectives by contributing to the achievement of activities, to assist CPME in undertaking effective policy work by supporting the EU Policy advisors in the gathering of information, the formulation of policy and the implementation of projects on specific topics and to monitor general policy developments on subjects relevant to CPME.

Tasks  
Reporting directly to the Secretary General, your responsibilities will include:
- Research and analysis on a range of policy topics;
- Monitoring international, EU and national
- Organising and participating in meetings and events;
- Assisting with preparing draft reports, presentations and other internal and external documents;
- Assisting with preparing administrative/ communication tasks.

Your profile:
- Master degree in a related field (law, political or social sciences)
- Knowledge of EU Law and the European decision-making process
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Swiftness of execution of work, respect of deadlines
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good English, good knowledge of another EU language desirable
- Capacity to work on a wide range of subjects and to keep dead-lines under pressure
- Capacity to work in a multi-cultural environment
- Capacity to work independently but also as part of a team
- Computer literacy

Conditions
Paid internship for 6 months (brutto 744.68 EUR), Belgian contract “contrat Belge d’immersion professionelle”. 

The Standing Committee of European Doctors (CPME) is the representative organisation of European doctors through its national medical organisations from 27 full member countries, and 4 further associate and observer countries. CPME aims to promote the highest standards of medical training and medical practice in order to achieve the highest quality of health care for all citizens of Europe.
