Internship in Online Communications

Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 90 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.

The Transparency International Secretariat (TI-S) is seeking a highly motivated intern to work with our online communications team.
Main function: Assist an eight-person Web team in the development and publication of online and print-based content and social media content

6 months, full time

Remuneration:
EUR 400 (according to the German labour and social security law)
Location:
Berlin, Germany
Key tasks:
  • Update content on the website
  • Research and publish the Daily Corruption News
  • Assist with extranet account management
  • Respond to copyright requests
  • Conduct photo research
  • Assist with writing and publication of the TI-S internal Newsletter
  • Prepare a monthly website Statistics report
  • Pursue a personal development project
Knowledge, experience, interests and skills:
Skills / Attributes required
  • University degree
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills in English
  • Knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
  • A sunny, flexible attitude with proven experience working in a small team
  • Commitment to social justice and the struggle against corruption.
Skills / Attributes considered an asset
  • Advanced Degree in communications, journalism, political science, or related field
  • Experience in Website development
  • Advanced HTML and CSS
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and industry-standard software tools
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint
  • Professional experience with social media
  • Experience with politically sensitive communications material
  • Experience with content management systems and online databases
  • Experience with photo research
  • Working knowledge of European languages other than English.
