Internship APEAL

APEAL is offering a paid internship for its European office in Brussels.
APEAL is the Association of European Producers of Steel for Packaging of four multi-national producers of steel for packaging. While more than half our production is used in the fast moving consumer goods industry, primarily in food and drink, the applications of steel for packaging are vast, covering virtually the entire range of industrial and consumer products from chemicals in high pressurized aerosols to vacuum sealed steel containers.
We are looking for a motivated intern with a technical background who wants to learn about steel for packaging and contribute to the success of steel for packaging in our small team.
Responsibilities:
  •     Contribution to APEAL’s technical dossiers, especially EU REACH legislation, Recycling, food contact materials issues, Life Cycle Analyses (LCA), …
  •     Contribute to the daily operation of the APEAL offices and help with administrative tasks.
  •     Lead, monitoring and reporting on project database;
  •     General internet search and writing.
Qualifications:
  •     University degree in engineering, chemistry, European law or related fields.
  •     Interest and willingness to use gained knowledge in technical dossiers;
  •     Good knowledge of use MS Office;
  •     Excellent oral and written English. Other languages (French, German) are an advantage;
  •     Excellent communication, diplomatic and organizational skills;
  •     Ability to work independently with tight deadlines in a multi-cultural team and a high level of self-motivation.
Starting date: 15 March 2013
Duration: 6 months (15 March – 15 September 2013).

The internship will be a paid internship/stage.
