The bursaries are to go towards tuition fees only and can cover fees up to the value of £3,750. If tuition fees for the programme are £3,400, the amount left over from that (i.e. £350) cannot be claimed or used by the student.

Eligibility

In order to be considered in bursary scholarship candidates must have been accepted to study a one-year, taught postgraduate degree programme at the University. Students undertaking pre-doctoral courses or postgraduate diploma or certificate courses cannot be funded under this Scheme. Bursaries can be awarded to students undertaking a ‘one-year’ programme on a part-time basis over two consecutive years.

In addition the eligible applicants must be Scottish by birth, descent (at least one parent born in Scotland) or have been continuously resident in Scotland for a period of at least three years for the purpose of secondary or tertiary education in Scotland. Residence in Scotland for any other purpose does not make an applicant eligible. Vacations, periods of absence through illness and periods spent outside Scotland as part of a Scottish educational course shall not be taken into account in determining whether the residence has been ‘continuous’.

Application Procedure
Students must complete the below application form and submit directly to the College in which the programme they will be taking is based. Details of where to send completed applications can be found on the application form.

Submission Deadline

31st of July 2013
