Chancellor’s Master’s Scholarships at University of Sussex in UK, 2013

University of Sussex offers Chancellor’s Master’s Scholarships in UK. There are over 100 scholarships available each worth £3,000 to help towards tuition fees. UK and EU students can apply for these scholarships. The Scholarships are available only for the first year of postgraduate studies in the case of two year full-time master’s degrees and 1+3 courses. These scholarships will be awarded on the basis of previous or current academic performance and future potential.
About Scholarship: University is delighted to launch a prestigious new scholarship scheme for UK and EU students.  University welcome applications from students who have achieved or expect to achieve a first class honours degree from a UK university and who are offered a full-time place on an eligible Masters course at Sussex.
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of previous or current academic performance and future potential and are available in any school at the University of Sussex (excluding the Brighton and Sussex Medical School and IDS). The Scholarships are available only for the first year of postgraduate studies in the case of two year full-time masters degrees and 1+3 courses. Applications from students considering only a Masters degree and who are not seeking to undertake Doctoral study are welcome. 
Study:  The scholarship relates to all full-time taught Masters degree courses at the University of Sussex (e.g. MA, MSc, LLM. MRes) excluding the following courses: Postgraduate diplomas, Graduate Entry LLB, Common Professional Examination (CPE)/Graduate Diploma in Law, Graduate Diploma in Economics, Masters degrees in Social Work, Social Work post qualifying Masters degrees, PGCE courses and schools direct teaching courses, MSc Automotive Engineering, Master of Education (two years part-time), MA degrees in IDS apart from the MA Gender and Development and the MA in Climate Change and Development, Masters degrees at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School and Pre-Masters degrees and diplomas taught at partner colleges which are validated by Sussex

Eligibility: In order to be considered for a Chancellor’s Masters Scholarship you must meet all of the following criteria:
-must be classified as a Home (UK), EU or Channel Islands/Isle of Man student for fee classification purposes
-must hold or expect to achieve a First class undergraduate honours degree from a UK University
-must have applied for your chosen full-time Masters degree by 1 August and then accept and meet the conditions of your offer; and
-must meet the University’s entrance requirements
-The scholarship relates to all full-time taught Masters degree courses at the University of Sussex (e.g. MA, MSc, LLM. MRes).
Scholarship Open for: UK and EU (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden) students can apply for the scholarships.
Selection Criteria: Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of previous or current academic performance and future potential. The selectors will pay careful attention to the information you provide in the Scholarship application form. The university welcomes applications from students considering only a Master’s degree and who are not seeking to undertake Doctoral study. 
Notification: The final allocation round for scholarships will be in August, with the outcome of all decisions notified by Monday 9 September. 
Apply:  If you are a UK, EU or Islands student and hold (or expect to achieve) a first class undergraduate degree from a UK University, meet the University’s general entrance requirements and intend to study at the University on an eligible full-time Masters course you are eligible for consideration. In order to be considered you must apply for admission to an eligible full-time Masters course by 1 August via the University’s online postgraduate application system. In addition, you must complete and submit the attached Chancellor’s Masters Scholarship application form by 1 August.
