2014 Brandon Research Fellowship in International Law, University of Cambridge

Lauterpacht Centre for International Law, University of Cambridge is offering research fellowships in international law in UK. The Lauterpacht Centre provides a centre for research in Cambridge for legal practitioners and academics from around the world .Candidates must be fluent in English and at least one of French, German or Spanish. The Brandon Research Fellowship is intended to cover a stay of at least eight weeks at the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law and has a maximum value of £3000 (GBP); any additional travel or other expenses will be the responsibility of the selected Fellow. 
About Scholarship: The Lauterpacht Centre for International Law is pleased to invite applications for the 2014 Brandon Research Fellowship, which continues to be funded by a generous gift, made in 2009, by Mr Michael Brandon (1923-2012). The Brandon Research Fellowship is intended to cover a stay of at least eight weeks at the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law and has a maximum value of £3000 (GBP); any additional travel or other expenses will be the responsibility of the selected Fellow. Two awards may be made if the strength of the field warrants it. 
Study: Fellowship is provided in the field of International Law offered by University of Cambridge in UK. Course Level: This is a Post-Graduate research fellowshipFellowship is intended to cover a stay of a minimum of  eight weeks and Brandon Fellow will undertake a project on some aspect of public or private international law or international arbitration while based at the Lauterpacht Centre. Eligibility: Candidates for the Brandon Fellowship must be fluent in English and at least one of French, German or Spanish.
-Candidates must specify a project on some aspect of public or private international law or international arbitration on which they will work while resident at the Lauterpacht Centre.
-The Fellowship is intended to cover a stay of at least eight (8) weeks at the Lauterpacht Centre in the year of the award.
-This is a Post-Graduate research fellowship. Persons currently enrolled in PhD programs (in the UK or elsewhere) are not eligible to apply unless their final thesis has already been submitted by the closing date for applications. 

Scholarship Open for: International students can apply for these fellowships. 
Number of awards: Two awards may be made if the strength of the field warrants it.

Two awards may be made if the strength of the field warrants it. Facilities: The Lauterpacht Centre provides all Visiting Scholars, including the Brandon Fellow, with computer access, bench space, access to the Centre’s library and an introduction to the University Library and Squire Law Library. The costs of provision of these facilities are covered by bench fees. If additional (i.e. computer or secretarial) support is required, this may be subject to an additional charge. 
Apply: The mode of applying is by post or email. Applications for the Brandon Fellowship should consist of:
-Completed application form including outline of proposed research (available on the Lauterpacht Centre website: www.lcil.cam.ac.uk);
-Curriculum vitae (maximum four pages);
-Two letters of reference.
All documents should be prepared in English. The Applicant must ensure that his/her application is delivered either by post or email by the application deadline. The Applicant is also responsible for ensuring that the letters of reference are received by the application deadline.

Note: Any additional travel or other expenses will be the responsibility of the selected fellow. Prospective visitors are advised to bear in mind that the cost of a visit to the Centre will include Lauterpacht Centre fees, transportation cost, accommodation cost, maintenance cost and research-related expenses.
