International PhD Scholarship of Dudley Stamp Memorial Awards, UK

Up to £500 will be granted yearly for Dudley Stamp Memorial Awards recipients support research or study travel of the PhD or postdoctoral researcher in the field of geography.  

Description
The Dudley Stamp Memorial Award offers a number of small grants (up to £500) for PhD students or postdoctoral researchers in the early stages of their careers, to assist them in research or study travel leading to the advancement of geography and to international cooperation in the  study of geography. The award is administered by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) and awarded by the trustees of the Dudley Stamp Memorial Award. Several grants are awarded each year. The application deadline is 22 February. Preference will be given to research that leads to the advancement of geography and to international co-operation in the study of the subject. Applications are particularly welcome for projects which will strengthen links between geographers in the United Kingdom and those overseas.

Eligibility
  • Applicants must be registered (full or part  time) for a PhD at a UK Higher Education institution OR employed by a UK HEI within 6 years of completion of a doctoral degree.
  • Applicants of any nationality are welcome to apply.
  • Applicants registered for MPhil or other Masters courses are not eligible.
  • These awards cannot provide funding solely for conference attendance.
