2014 Griffith University International Postgraduate Research Scholarships in Australia

Griffith University offers International Postgraduate Research Scholarships in Australia. Applicants must have completed, or expect to complete, a Bachelors degree with honours equivalent to first class and be intending to enroll full-time in an approved doctoral or research masters program. The GUIPRS may be held for up to two years for a research masters program and up to three years for a doctoral program. A six month extension may be granted to doctoral students in certain circumstances. The application deadline is 7 October. 
About Scholarship: The Griffith University International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (GUIPRS) are available during the University’s mid- and end-of-year research scholarship rounds. The GUIPRS covers tuition fees for the student for up to three years for doctoral candidates and up to two years for research masters candidates. In addition, the scholarship covers Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the student and any dependant/s for the duration of the scholarship. Effective from November 2011, postgraduate research students are required to hold a visa for their program length plus an additional 6 months to allow for interactive thesis marking. Higher Degree Research students undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy will require 56 months of overseas health cover. Holders of Griffith University scholarships will receive the cover (if undertaking a PhD) for the first 42 months of their program and will be required to pay the remaining 14 months (and provide evidence of coverage) at the time of accepting their offer. 
Study: Scholarships are provided to learn any of the courses offered by the Griffith University. Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing postgraduate research degree programmes (doctoral and research master) at Griffith University. Eligibility: The GUIPRS is available to international students only. Applicants must have completed, or expect to complete, a Bachelors degree with honours equivalent to first class and be intending to enroll full-time in an approved doctoral or research masters program.
Applicants who do not have First Class Honours may demonstrate equivalence to first class honours through the following:
-refereed journal publications (or acceptance for publication);
-referred conference paper presented and written as first author;
-evidence of other research output such as a book, book chapter, creative work or performances; or
-Also include evidence of any research income, awards, professional experience and so forth.
-Part-time awards may be offered to students who, for social or medical reasons, are unable to study full-time.
