Trainee on Economic & Statistical Issues EBF - European Banking Federation

The European Banking Federation (EBF, ww.ebf-fbe.eu) is the united voice of banks established in Europe and represents national banking associations of all EU & EFTA countries.
The EBF is seeking to recruit a trainee for its Legal, Retail, Economic & Social Policy Department.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will support EBF on economic and statistical issues for the Chief Economists’ Steering Group / Statistics Working Group and the SME Working Group. A non-exhaustive list of responsibilities includes:
• data analysis (sorting, extracting meaning from data, interpretation of results);
• on-line and off-line data search;
• writing succintly and informatively;
• networking, both internally & externally.

REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will have:
• an academic background/education in economic analysis, statistic analysis and/or European affairs (preferably banking);
• excellent writing skills;
• good communication and team working skills;
• strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure;
• highly motivated & committed to personal, professional and organisational development, willing to succeed;
• pro-active;
• eye for detail; analytical thinking skills;
• respect for deadlines & accuracy;
• excellent command of English (oral and written); other languages an asset, especially French and German;
• advanced computer skills, in particular Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

STARTING DATE: January 2014
DURATION of the internship/convention of professional immersion: 6 months to one year
