Market Research Assistant (12-month paid Internship)

shecco is a market development expert supporting the introduction of climate friendly technologies, with a special focus on natural refrigerants and electric vehicle technology. Our philosophy is to bring these technologies faster to the market in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as soon as possible and thereby “sustaining our atmosphere”.
To support its activities in the area of market research and international projects, shecco is looking to recruit a Market Research Assistant.

Mission
The Market Research Assistant will assist in conducting tailor-made market research studies in the field of climate-friendly technologies, namely HVAC&R (heating, ventilation, air-conditioning & refrigeration), natural refrigerants and electric vehicles. In this role, he/she will undertake constant monitoring of industry and policy developments at a global and national scale, and compile data for internal and external databases, for Market Analysis and Projections, Partner Assessments, and Scenario Planning. He/she will draft and analyse surveys. He/she will be required to communicate with market players and customers, and conduct interviews for that purpose.
He/she will support the Market Research team with analytical and monitoring, editorial and customer relationship tasks. The position also requires a strong business orientation and independent work on print & online publications (incl. multimedia publications using ibooks author) including the “GUIDEs” (http://publications.shecco.com).
Other possible tasks to be part of the position involve the identification of relevant project schemes at the United Nations, European or national levels, support in drafting applications for these, and project management support for shecco’s international project team.
Finally, he/she will also be expected to write articles for publication on the industry web portals managed by shecco (cars21.com, R744.com, hydrocarbons21.com, ammonia21.com, R718.com), as well as contributions for new publications (newsletters) planned for 2014.
Profile
• Very strong interest in market analysis on a constant and project basis

• Sound understanding of business environments and global industry needs
• Excellent analytical and communicative skills
• Able to use qualitative & quantitative research methods in theory and practice
• Able to liaise with market players across multicultural environments and culturally sensitive
• Capable of presenting complex data in a user-friendly and concise way, using graphic elements and a customer-oriented approach
• Pro-active approach to customer relationship activities
• Quick learner, well-organised and able to deliver on time
• Team player and able to work autonomously
• Reliable, capable of building trust and credibility with team, stakeholders, and customers

Requirements
• University degree in marketing, economics, business management, or similar
• Proven experience in carrying out analytical, marketing and sales activities
• Excellent skills in English, both oral and written (native-language level)
• Knowledge of MS Office (Excel) and/or MAC (Numbers)
• Valid working permit for Belgium required
• Additional language, a strong plus
• Knowledge of advanced statistical software (SPSS, other), a plus
• Experience in United Nations and European project schemes, a plus

Conditions
• Paid Internship (Convention d’Immersion Professionelle) for a 12-month period
• This internship is intended to lead to a permanent employment, based on performance
