World Citizen Talent Scholarships for Master’s Students in Netherlands, 2014/15

Hague University offers a total of 9 World Citizen Talent scholarships to students who would like to start their Master programme during the academic year 2014-2015. At € 5,000 each, the scholarships cover a large sum of the university’s tuition fee and will only be awarded once. The scholarship will be applied as a tuition fee waiver. The application deadline is 31st of March 2014.

Eligibility: Applicants are eligible to apply for one of these scholarships if:
-Applicants are enrolling for the first time for one of our International Master programmes
-The scholarship is a tuition fee waiver.
-Applicants have fully completed the scholarship application form
-Applicants will have been provisionally accepted as a student on or before 31 March
-Applicants have written an essay, as explained below.

Scholarship Description: University offers a total of 9 scholarships to students who would like to start their Master programme during the academic year 2014-2015. At € 5,000 each, the scholarships cover a large sum of the university’s tuition fee and will only be awarded once. The scholarship will be applied as a tuition fee waiver. We are seeking young, intelligent, talented and ambitious people who view themselves as citizens of the world. If this sound like you and the conditions listed above apply to you, all you need to do is complete the application form and write an essay of 950 to 1100 words that would convince us to provide you with a scholarship. In the essay, describe your cultural background and explain why and how you can contribute to the multinational, multicultural beehive that is The Hague University of Applied Sciences. Our university is an educational united nations of 146 nationalities, where everyone speaks English. You will be taught by both local and international lecturers who have an easy way of interacting with the students. The social contact among the students also makes for an enriching study period.
Number of award(s): A total of 9 scholarships to students who would like to start their Master programme during the academic year 2014-2015 will be awarded.
Duration of award(s): Scholarships will only be awarded once.
What does it cover? At € 5,000 each, the scholarships cover a large sum of the university’s tuition fee and will only be awarded once. The scholarship will be applied as a tuition fee waiver.
Selection Criteria: The Scholarship Awards Committee will assess the essay assignments on the basis of the following criteria:
a. compliance with the assignment as referred to in Article 5, paragraph 1;
b. use of the English language;
c. originality.

Notification: Based on the criteria described in paragraph 1, the Master Scholarship Awards Committee will select up to 9 prospective students. These students will be awarded a provisional scholarship. The Committee will duly inform these prospective students in writing within six weeks after expiry of the application period as referred to in article 6, paragraph 1. The Master Scholarship Awards Committee will also select various runners-up. The Committee will duly inform these runners-up of their status and the resulting implications in writing within six weeks after expiry of the application period as referred to in article 6, paragraph 1. The Scholarship Awards Committee will inform prospective students who have not been awarded a scholarship or selected as runners-up of the fact that they will not be eligible for a scholarship within six weeks after expiry of the application period as referred to in article 6, paragraph 1.
How to Apply: The prospective student may address scholarship applications to the Master Scholarship Awards Committee. This application must have been submitted by 31 March prior to the academic year to which the scholarship relates. Applications must be submitted by means of the appropriate form, which can be downloaded from the Hague University of Applied Sciences’ website and must be sent to master-scholarship-at-hhs.nl. The prospective student must include the essay as referred to in Article 5 with his/her application.
Scholarship Application Deadline: The application deadline is 31st of March 2014.
