Distance Learning Scholarships at University of Leicester in UK, 2014

School of Museum Studies within the University of Leicester is offering distance learning scholarships for UK/international students. Scholarships are available for students wishing to commence their studies with us by distance learning in October 2014 and April 2015. For October 2014, there are two programmes of scholarships (Programme one or Programme two). Applicants must meet the university criteria. Application should be submitted till 1st August 2014.

Eligibility:
(Programme one): All applicants to all four of our postgraduate taught programmes (by distance learning) will be considered.
( Programme two):
International (not UK or EU) applicants to all four of our postgraduate taught programmes (by distance learning) will be considered.

Scholarship Open for International Students: UK/International students can apply for these scholarships.

Number of award(s): 9 Scholarships are offered. (3 awards of £2,000 for students currently working or volunteering in the UK museums or heritage sector (to be awarded as fee discounts), 3 open awards of £1,000 (to be awarded as fee discounts) and three awards of £2,500 for international applicants)
Duration of award(s): Scholarship is offered for one year.
What does it cover? These programmes offer:
- 3 awards of £2,000 for students currently working or volunteering in the UK museums or heritage sector (to be awarded as fee discounts)
- 3 open awards of £1,000 (to be awarded as fee discounts)
-Three awards of £2,500 for international applicants (to be awarded as fee discounts in the first year of study).

Selection criteria: Applicants will be assessed on the strength of their application, paying particular attention to the applicant’s academic background and personal statement, which should detail the applicant’s ambition in undertaking the programme and link their current responsibilities (or career aspirations) with the content and learning outcomes of the programme.

How to Apply: No separate application is required for this programme. All applications will be assessed after the closing date for applications. Only successful applicants will be notified. Applications submitted after the published closing date will not be considered.
Scholarship Application Deadline: The application deadline is 1st August 2014.
