Eligibility:
Applicants must normally hold or expect to obtain a First or Upper Second class Honours degree, or equivalent, and must have submitted an online application for admission to postgraduate research at The Law School of the University of Strathclyde. In the case of undergraduate applicants, any award will be conditional on a degree of the required standing being obtained. In all cases, the award will not be confirmed until the applicant has been accepted by the University as a postgraduate research student.

To apply for the above scholarship / award / grant you should submit the following documents and should possess the following:
Applicants must have made an application to the University for a place (PhD or MPhil) before submitting the Campbell Burns. Information on postgraduate research study at Strathclyde, and the online application form for PhD and MPhil places is available.
You must ensure that all requisite information (including copies of your previous qualifications – degrees etc) is uploaded to your application for a PhD / MPhil place once you have created it. If you are currently studying for a qualification, and the results are not yet known, please make this clear.
Do not attach anything to the Campbell Burns form. Fill (or paste) all information (eg research proposal, previous qualifications) into the spaces provided on the form.
Two academic references are required. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that these are provided by the closing date. These must either be uploaded to your application for a place or e-mailed to hass-scholarships@strath.ac.uk. We will NOT pursue references. Your application will be weakened, and may be disregarded altogether, if references are not made available in this way by the closing date.
You must inform us of any other scholarship or bursary funding which you hold or which you obtain after submitting a Campbell Burns application.
Existing self-funding PhD students may also apply. You should fill up and submit the Campbell Burns application form by the closing date. We will use the references submitted with your original application for a PhD place unless these are unavailable in which case we will contact you. If you prefer, you may arrange for two up-to-date references to be emailed to hass-scholarships@strath.ac.uk by the closing date.
Once all the information has been received by University of Strathclyde and the assessment of the submitted documents is complete, you will be informed about your selection in the same.
