Project Assistant (internship) EMSP - European Multiple Sclerosis Platform

An excellent development opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to join a small team as a Project Assistant for European projects.
This post offers a varied and interesting workload and the chance to develop key skills in a supportive and stimulating environment.
You will be responsible for providing administrative support for the various projects undertaken by the European Multiple Sclerosis Platform, covering areas such as Public health, employment and disability issues.
The role of Project Assistant will involve supporting project activities such as practical research, supporting coordination of the projects, reporting and dissemination. You will be expected to assist in the preparation of project and financial reports and to help maintain the necessary documentation for audit requirements and funding bodies across all projects. You will be willing to attend and contribute to relevant events and meetings in various locations in Brussels and in Europe. Experience of liaising with a wide range of people from different organisations and cultures would be highly beneficial to succeed in this role. Experience of managing a busy and diverse workload is also desirable.
You should be preferably in your final year of a degree in European affairs, social sciences studies. Excellent organisational and communication skills are needed for this post along with the ability to work well on your own initiative and as part of a small team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Research and analysis on a range of policy topics;
Monitoring international, EU and national policy developments;
Assisting with preparing draft reports, presentations and other internal and external documents;
Assisting with preparing administrative/communication tasks.
Your profile:
Master degree in a related field (law, political or social sciences);
Knowledge of EU Law and the European decision-making process;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
Swiftness of execution of work, respect of deadlines;
Good written and oral communication skills
Very good English, good knowledge of another EU language desirable;
Capacity to work on a wide range of subjects and to keep dead-lines under pressure;
Capacity to work in a multi-cultural environment;
Capacity to work independently but also as part of a team;
Computer literacy.
Conditions
Paid internship.
Recent graduates and self-funded candidates are also welcome. A 6 to 12-month placement is preferable.
